Mission San Jose Little League

Minor National:
The Devil Rays topped the Braves 5-3 in eight innings, behind smart base running by Mark Gaffey, Cole Furukawa, Jason Kinner and Nathan Pope. Michael Brazil and Raghav Ravanshy made spectacular catches for the Devil Rays. The Braves got fine pitching and a triple from Ryan Henderson.

Jordan Terbeek slammed a single, double, triple and drove in three runs in the A's 10-6 win over the Dodgers. Second baseman Cole Nauman singled twice scored three runs and pulled off an unassisted double play. Chris Desiniotis doubled in a pair of runs while Ritesh Pakala and Nicholas Odom contributed to the run total.

Ryan Liu's daring steal of home with two out in the bottom of the sixth handed the A's a 6-5 win over the White Sox. Liu's steal capped a five-run rally that included a two-run double from Cade Nauman and Liu's own double. Liu also pitched three scoreless innings. Anand Balaji, Jordan Terbeek and Alex Hancock singled for the A's.

Sam Lowrey's three-run double and Johnny Neri's two-run double highlighted a six-run third inning in the Dodgers' 8-5 win over the White Sox. Ryan Lee and Dustin Chiang each reached base three times and scored twice. Catcher Bubba Guzman doubled and led the Dodgers defensively as he scampered to pick up a passed ball and then tagged out a runner at home. For the White Sox, Patrick Zhu's big hit and Johnathan Anderson's two-run double led the offense, while Gabriel Francisco and Matthew Chao played fine defense.

It was the Mariners' flawless defense that keyed their 2-0 win over the Yankees as Adam Curtis and Kevin Finch combined for four strikeouts. Offensively, Kenny Jacoby tripled while Cheyenne Walker and Johnny Leinweber added doubles. The Yankee's offense was led by Brandon Fuhs who doubled and singled while Zachary Strand's single continued his hitting streak for the Yankees following a homer run in his previous game. The Yankees Brandon Wong and Mitchell Broadwin made run-saving catches in the outfield to support Brandon Facha's strong pitching that saw him strike out six. Facha also added a single.

The Yankees beat the Mariners 11-1 behind Josh Johnson's grand slam. Arjun Sarkar added a double, single and three RBI's while Brandon Facha pounded a double and a single with two runs batted in. Brandon Wong and Vikram Dharasker each had hits with Wong later scoring after reaching base. Facha struck out nine in 4 1/3 innings while the Mariners' pitchers, Kevin Finch, Adam Curtis and Cheyenne Walker combined for six strikeouts.

Pitching from Jeff Chu and Matt Eike paced the Giants to a 10-3 win over the Angels. Matt Eike doubled twice with the bases loaded, and Cole Lewis made an amazing catch on a fly ball. Catcher Akshay Agharkar's play behind the plate was a big contribution to the win.

With the bases loaded, the Dodgers' Steadman Findlay hit the ball hard in the first inning to bring home Giancarlo Aiuto, Kelsey Findlay and Joshua Scheel. Scheel also added to the run total with a home run in the second inning. Kevin Normandin did an awesome job of covering first base for the Dodgers against the Giants. Most important, the players had a great time and showed good sportsmanship by cheering on the players of both teams.
