April 3, 2007 > Easter Sunrise Service in Niles Community Park Easter Sunrise Service in Niles Community Park Three "open and affirming" congregations in Fremont, Fremont Congregational United Church of Christ, Niles Congregational United Church of Christ, and First Christian Church, invite and welcome all in the community to join them for a beautiful and informal Easter Sunrise Celebration on Sunday, April 8 at 6:30-7:00am in the Niles Community Park, at the corner of 3rd and H Streets, Niles, Ca 94536. The early morning experience is a unique way to celebrate the early morning discovery of the resurrection and embodies the promise of new life that God proclaims through the resurrection. In previous years, the larger Tri-City Ministerial Association (now the Tri-Cities Interfaith Council) had sponsored an Easter Sunrise service at Lake Elizabeth, but has decided to no longer continue offering this service. The three churches sponsoring this alternative service want to ensure that this experience is available to the community. The service will be led by Pastors Garnet McClure, Jeffrey Spencer, and Joseph Walters representing the three respective congregations, in the grassy area behind the parking lot. Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair and join the celebration.
