New Kidango board members

Kidango's Board of Directors recently seated seven new members to their Board of Directors. Kidango's Board Members are volunteers who serve initial two-year terms. The Board sets policies, the strategic plan, reviews the quality of services, oversees the proper use of funds for the children served and evaluates the executive director.

Kidango's new board members include:

Valarie Boyle. Ms. Boyle is a Fremont resident who works as a Mortgage Broker and Real Estate Agent. Previously Ms. Boyle served as the Executive Director of the Fremont Chamber of Commerce

Lynna Do. Ms. Do is a Fremont resident who has a consulting firm, Lynna Do and Associates. Mrs. Do is active in local politics.

Rosemary Sedillo Glatt. Ms. Glatt is a San Jose resident and a business consultant for RSG and Associates. She was the master in the San Jose Unified School District desegregation case. She previously was a board member of Community Family Services which is now a nonprofit subsidiary of Kidango.

Brian Hughes. Mr. Hughes is a resident of Fremont and works in Hayward for Fremont Bank as their Project Manager. He is a new father of a little girl, Heather.

Gerry McFaull. Mr. McFaull is a Fremont resident and CEO of Qualdeval International. Mr. McFaull is active in the community and a member of the Board of Directors of the Fremont Chamber of Commerce.

David Miranda. Mr. Miranda is a resident of San Jose and works as a Technician for AT&T. He was on the Board of Community Family Services before CFS became a nonprofit subsidiary of Kidango.

Nancy Thomas. Ms. Thomas is a resident of Newark and retired from Hewlett Packard Corporation. She is a trustee of the Newark Unified School District.

Kidango is a large charity in Alameda, Santa Clara and San Francisco counties with a budget of almost $25 million and 400 staff positions. Incorporated in 1979, the agency provides early childhood education and child development services in centers and family home care settings to low income families, to infants of teen parents, to homeless children, and to families who are working, in school or in job training programs. Kidango also provides early intervention services to infants with disabilities, early childhood mental health services, Head Start services and nutrition services to children served in our centers. Over 3,000 children are served each year in the various programs provided by Kidango.
