Urgent support needed for Adopt-a-Family
With less than two weeks until Christmas, LOV (League of Volunteers) still has 25 families that have not been adopted and they are expecting more last minute referrals from agencies that have closed their application processes.
One example is that of Daynah, a single mother with four children ages 1 to 15. A back injury has left her unable to work. Some days, she is unable to walk at all. The family’s only income is from modest disability benefits.
Daughter Michelle (12), would like school supplies and a rolling backpack; while Mark (15); would love a CD player; Emily (8), wishes for a dancing Bratz doll; and 4-year-old Danica wants a playhouse tent.
