‘Picasso at the Lapin Agile’-A playby Troy River
American High School Performing Arts proudly presents Steve Martin's "Picasso at the Lapin Agile". This long running off-Broadway comedy places 25 year-old Albert Einstein and 23 year-old Pablo Picasso in a Parisian cafe in 1904 just before the renowned scientist transformed physics and the celebrated painter set the world on fire with cubism.
“Picasso at the Lapin Agile” is a humorous look at the nature of beauty as seen through the eyes of two of the twentieth century's greatest minds–and several of its not-so-great minds. The play is thick with Martin's wry humor and love of the absurd as the ensemble spends the evening debating art, science, genius, sex, death, and–of course–novelty pies. The show is rated PG13 for adult language and suggestive humor.
