Newark residents invited to help with city planning
The City of Newark invites residents to a Community Open House to help plan the future of Areas 3 and 4 in the southwest quadrant of the City. There will be a brief presentation on the hour and half hour. Attendees will be encouraged to circulate among the displays and to provide informal comments by subject matter.
Area 3 is bounded by Cherry Street, Stevenson Boulevard, the Union Pacific railroad tracks and Mowry Avenue. It is designated primarily for research and development operations, but also includes the City’s Silliman Recreation Complex and the Ohlone College Newark Center for Health Sciences and Technology (presently under construction). Area 4 consists of 560 acres located between Mowry Avenue and Stevenson Boulevard to the west of the Union Pacific railroad tracks. It is largely in agricultural use.
