Kidango honors local bank foundationby Marc Baker
Kidango, one of the Bay Area's largest nonprofit, early care and education organizations will honor the Fremont Bank Foundation for their recent monetary donation of $20,000 to help with building and improvement projects at the Kidango Rix Child Development Center in Fremont.
A reception to honor the bank will be held at the Rix center from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 8. The reception will include a slide show featuring Fremont Bank employees and a performance by the children who attend the Rix Center.
In 1979, Kidango began providing child development services at the Rix facility for 90 children. Today, more than 200 children receive quality educational services, Head Start services and mental health services at the Rix center. Additionally, the Rix center has two inclusive classrooms for children with developmental disabilities and special needs. Executive Director Paul Miller says, "Support from businesses in our community is crucial to ensuring that children in Fremont have the resources they need to succeed in school and life. The Fremont Bank Foundation's generous support helps us maintain a safe, comfortable and beautiful campus where children can learn and grow. The Foundation's donation helps create a better and stronger community for everyone."
