Niles Art Walkby Judy Corrie
The Niles Main Street Association's October Art Walk is all about fall and Halloween. On display will be dioramas created by local craftspeople featuring a variety of subjects including the Day of the Dead.
At Corrie Glass, Wayne Corrie will be making tiny glass ghosts. The ones that don't make it through the creative process will become an end-of-the-day-marble, created by using scraps of glass scattered on the workbench and "mistakes". Visitors are invited to sign up for a free drawing to win the marble.
A woodworker for 35 years, Allen Harrison, will be on hand to share his craft and talk about the creation of everything from pens, boxes, to toys. He also teaches frame construction and matting.
The Fremont Art Association will be presenting its 41st Annual Fine Art Show, partially supported by a grant from the Alameda County Art Commission. Saturday, the 14, will be the last day to see this juried show.
Maps are available at 37683 Niles Blvd. For more information, please call (510) 793-8782.
