Happy Fish Swim School presents the Happy Fish Run for Education on Sunday, Oct. 15 at Lake Elizabeth in Fremont.  This will be the second time this event has been held to raise money for local schools through the Fremont Education Foundation's (FEF) Guy Emanuele Fund. A portion of the entry fee will go directly to the participant's choice of schools.

FEF is a nonprofit, tax-exempt, public charity established in 1991 to encourage community involvement and investment in local schools. The Guy Emanuele Sports Fund provides individual students with scholarships to help offset cost of equipment, sportswear, transportation, fees, shoes, sports bags, tournament fees and other required items.

This 5k walk/10k run will follow around the Lake Elizabeth.  The quarter-mile and half-mile Tiny Trot runs will also take place near the lake.  All participants will receive a T-shirt, ribbon, refreshments, goodie bag and raffle ticket for great prizes.  Awards will be given to the top three male and female winners and all participants will receive a finisher ribbon.

For adults who would like to participate, Happy Fish Fitness Expo includes the Kid's Corral, an enclosed supervised area with fun activities for children.  Walkers and runners can leave their kids when they participate in the event.  This year's sponsors include Fremont Bank, Happy Fish Swim School. Fremont Education Foundation, Greenstein, Rogoff, Olsen and Co, LLP, NewPark Mall, Bay Aerials Gymnastics, Learning Bee Learning Center, Wells Fargo, Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman and Fremont Printing.

Entry fees are $25 for adults and $15 for the Tiny Trot, which is divided by age group. Ages 4 to 6 can run/walk a quarter-mile and 7 to 10 year olds are eligible to participate in the half-mile course. Packets, including a schedule can be picked up on race day.
