Blizzards gain ground in season openerby Naseem Chini
The Blizzard, boys Under-12 Division, have had an outstanding beginning by winning their first two matches of the 2006 season. They defeated the Limones, 4-0, to win their first match, and on Tuesday, Sept. 12, scored a second shutout, 7-0, over the Vipers.
Against the Vipers, Jake Roggenbusch had a "hat trick" by scoring three goals. Not to be outdone by Roggenbusch, Angel Lopez chipped in with a "natural hat trick" scoring three consecutive goals. Clayton Mapelli was the other scorer for the Blizzard as he added a fantastic goal. Andrew Yin, Dave Nephoran, Nev Murphy, Arman Chini, and Joshua Lee contributed to the goal outburst with strong offensive support. They also played great defense in front of first half goalie, Ryan Habibi and second half goalie, Raul Puri, who combined for the shutout. Go Blizzards! |
