How to Talk so Kids will Listen
Calling all parents of preschool and elementary school children! The City of Fremont Youth & Family Services (YFS) will be hosting a six-week workshop series called, "How To Talk So Kids Will Listen" by Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish. Workshops will be held in morning or evening sessions.
Parents will have the opportunity to learn, discuss, share and practice effective parenting strategies to help children deal with their feelings, increase cooperation, and increase self-esteem. Effective alternatives to punishment will also be shared.
Morning class will be on Wednesdays, October 4 through November 8, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Limited childcare will be available, morning session only. Evening classes will also run on Wednesdays, October 4 through November 8, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Elaine Culverwell, MFT, counselor and veteran teacher for Fremont Unified School District, will present the morning workshop. The cost of the workshops is $95 per person or $170 per couple (cost includes a workbook).
Both workshops will be held at the Fremont Family Resource Center in the Pacific Room, located at 39155 Liberty Street.
