On Saturday, Sept. 9 and Monday, Sept. 11, the Green Gators, Girls Under-12 team, kicked off their season with a pair of victories, 2-1 over the Hot Tamales and 3-1 over the Flames. Madison Cook scored three goals; Lacey Cole added two goals and two assists and Abigail Harrison had an assist. Lauren Youhanna recorded six saves in goal in the win over the Flames while Katie Courville and Synclaire Hamilton had stellar games.
Also on Saturday, Sept. 9, the Blue Streak, Girls Under-14 team, had their season opener against the Threat. Goalies Sara Hearn and Darra Lanigan played well for the Blue Streak in a game that was close until the final minutes. Robin Singh helped keep the game within reach with a goal-saving play on defense. The Threat then scored twice, late in the match, to defeat the Blue Streak 3-0. |
