Pedestrian Master Plan meetingby Rene Dalton
The City of Fremont invites the public to attend a meeting on Wednesday, September 20, 2006, to discuss the Fremont Pedestrian Master Plan. The meeting will be held in the Niles Room at 39550 Liberty Street, Fremont, CA 94538 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Fremont was recently listed as one of "America's Top 10 Walking Cities" by Prevention Magazine, citing the large number of residents who regularly walk for fitness, recreation, or commuting. The city's well-connected sidewalk network, miles of recreational trails and paths, flat topography and moderate climate also contribute to its pedestrian-friendly qualities.
Those not able to attend the meeting may contact Rene Dalton of the City of Fremont Transportation & Operations Department at (510) 494-4535 or email rdalton@ci.fremont.ca.us, or visit the city's pedestrian program website at http://www.fremont.gov/Community/Traffic/BicycleAndPedestrianProgram.htm for more information. |
