Calling all photographers
It's time to take those great photos for display at the 51st anniversary of Newark Days. Open to anyone who enjoys amateur photography. Novice and first-time entries are encouraged. Entries may be color or black and white. Categories are Animals, Humor, Nature, People, Landscape/Architecture, Vicinity and Digital Creations. First place in each category will receive $50 and ribbons will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. The best overall photo will receive $150.
It is possible for the overall winner to win in multiple categories. Entry fees are $10 for first entry and $5 for each additional photo. The contest is limited by display space to the first 150 entries with a maximum of 6 photos per entrant. Awards will be held at a reception on Friday evening, September 15th at 6 p.m. at the Newark Community Center.
Entry forms are available at the Newark Community Center, Newark Library, Silliman Center, Newark Chamber of Commerce, the League of Volunteers - LOV and all Fremont and Union City libraries and community centers. You can also obtain an application on the website at www.newarkdays.org. Photos and entry forms must be delivered to LOv at 36120 Ruschin Dr., Newark - in the former Ruschin School by September 7th and 8th from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. For information call 510-793-5683. |
