Looking for glamorous and talented canines

Sunday, September 17th is the day when Bay Area pooches and their owners can strut their stuff at the 51st annual Newark Days Celebration. Join the fun and vie for prizes in any or all of these categories: Best Pet Tricks, Best Owner/Dog Look-A-Like and Best Dressed/Costume. All dogs must be on a leash at all times, have a dog license and be up-to-date with their vaccinations. There is no fee to enter. The contest will be held at 1 p.m. at Newark's Wide World of Talent Stage in Newark Community Park on Cedar Blvd.

Entry forms for "Arknew's Dog Show" can be found at the Newark Library, Newark Community Center, Silliman Center, Newark Chamber of Commerce and the League of Volunteers - LOV- or you may download one at For information call 510-793-5683. Deadline for entry is Friday, September 8th.
