The weather may be hotter, but those Hayward Street Parties just get cooler and cooler. It'll be fine summer evening's fun Aug. 17 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. right in the heart of the historic downtown area. You'll find a great array of street rods and custom cars and even a few "chopper" motorcycles. There'll be loads of booths, exhibits, food vendors, and more. As always, kids will find many diversions and entertainments, including Art in Action for Kids, face painting, wandering clowns and that all-time winner, the Dreyers Grand Ice Cream truck!

This month's party features entertainment from Beatles tribute group, Fab Faux; classic rock band, Tony & The Hotshots; and the contemporary musicians, Nicole Cherie Band. Kick back in Newman Park or the beer garden, or plant your chairs right out in the street! It's a fine time for every member of the family.
