Newark Girl's Basketball Campby Darryl Reina
The Newark Recreation and Community Services Department is now accepting sign-ups for the second session of its annual Cougars Girl's Basketball Camp. The second session was added because the first session of 72 girls filled one week before the camp's starting date.
Session No. 2 of the camp will be designed for beginning to advanced players including players that attended session No 1. Along with players from the first session, the second session will accommodate girls, ages 8 to15, who were on the waiting list of the first session and any new players interested in improving their basketball skills. Players of all skill levels are welcome.
The camp will be held at the Silliman Activity Center, 6800 Mowry Avenue, Newark from Aug. 14 to 18, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. It will be directed by Newark Memorial High School Girl's Varsity Basketball coach, Darryl Reina. There will be a special emphasis on guard, wing, and post self-improvement workouts. The fee of $125 includes a camp T-shirt and an optional swim party.
