Top Hat XX Celebrates the Roaring 20’s
Dust off your zoot suit, grab your boa and join the Washington Hospital Healthcare Foundation for the 20th anniversary celebration of Top Hat featuring elegant dining and dazzling entertainment.
Top Hat XX will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2006 at the Fremont Marriott. The evening will begin with a fantastic cocktail reception followed by dinner and live entertainment. Featured performers this year include The Joe Sharino Band, who has received 15 "Best Band Awards" in Northern California from the San Jose Mercury News, Metro Magazine and KGO-AM Radio. From oldies to big band, disco to rock, they play it all. This band has been exciting audiences in the Bay Area for over 25 years.
In addition, Stompy Jones, a San Francisco-based sextet, known for their jumpin’ rhythm, wailing improvisations, hip charm, retro style and explosive stage show will perform. The musical history of the members of Stompy Jones is quite eclectic. The list includes performances and recordings with noted musicians such as John Lee Hooker, Bonnie Raitt, Carlos Santana and Robert Cray.
Sue Querner and Linda Vigil are the co-chairs of this year’s event. They promise many surprises during the exciting, fun-filled evening. Major sponsors for Top Hat XX include Fremont Bank, Fremont Marriott and Fremont Healthcare Center.
Proceeds from this year’s Top Hat event will benefit Washington Hospital’s Community Mammogram Program. This program was formed in collaboration with Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center and Tri-City Health Center. It serves women living in the Washington Township Health Care District who are underinsured or have no health insurance. Women ages 40 and up as well as women ages 30 to 40 who are considered at high risk for breast cancer as defined by Medicare, can receive free mammograms. The program was established in 2001 through funds raised by Washington Hospital Healthcare Foundation. To date, over 500 women have received free mammograms.
Sponsorship opportunities, program ads, tables of 10 and individual tickets for Top Hat XX are still available. For further information, please contact the Foundation at (510) 791-3428 or email foundation@whhs.com. |
