First Presbyterian Church of Newark is pleased to announce their annual Vacation Bible School, sponsored by the Youth and Children's' department. It is a week long event from Aug. 14 through 18 from 9 a.m. to Noon. This is a free event open to the community and all are welcome.
 
Many volunteers will ensure a successful event by teaching, making crafts, donating food and helping with recreation.
 
Each year we also pick a mission project. We have collected dog food for the Fremont Shelter and last year we were able to raise enough money to purchase eight acres of endangered rainforest in Brazil. This year we will be collecting back to school supplies for the Children of Sunrise Village, an organization in Fremont that shelters homeless and low income families.
