There will be a "Save Duck Island, Make a Difference Day" meeting on July 28 at the Boathouse Conference Room (Visitor's Center) Lake Elizabeth's Central Park from 6 to 7 p.m. After the meeting we will take a walk over to Duck Island, for those who are not familiar with the history and problems. We will update people on plans to plant tules and trees on the island and solicit ideas for the Oct. 28 "Make a Difference Day" events that will include clean-ups in Central Park (specifically Mission Creek, Morrison Creek, and Stivers Lagoon) and booths that will inform people on Duck Island. This event will be sponsored by city of Fremont, Math Science Nucleus, and TriCity Ecology Center. If you or your group would like to be involved please RSVP (blueford@msncueleus.org).
Pat Snow, a long time resident of Fremont has donated $500 to help with the restoration. We thank her for this kind contribution.
