Mission Valley ROPby Charlotte Grabill
A few years ago only a dream, our new MVROP facility will become a reality with a completion date set for summer of 2007. The 45,000 square foot facility will provide career technical education for more than 5,000 high school students and adults in the Tri- City community. Mission Valley ROP is a partnership of Fremont, Newark, and New Haven unified school districts and receives funding by the state of California.
Housed, in the old Mowry Elementary School building on Laiolo Road since 1977, the new center consolidates 19 new classrooms and an additional 16,000 square feet of office and meeting space in addition to 10 MVROP classrooms currently located on the Kennedy High School campus.
A recent article in the American School Board Journal featured the new facility as one of the outstanding examples of school facility design in the United States. We are extremely grateful to our three districts and in particular to Fremont Unified School District for making our dream a reality. |
