April 8 Red Sox vs. Giants Top Players: Brennon Sage, Leray Stinson, Todd Porter, Decaurey Brown, Brayden Drewry Game Summary: Leray Stinson had a out of the park Home run and Brennon Sage was 4 for 4, Todd Porter, and Decaurey Brown and good defense and two hits a piece in a 16 to 3 win over the Giants.
April 25 Rookie Red Sox vs. Giants Top players: Todd Porter, Jacob Autry, Decaurey Brown Clayton, Brayden Drewery. Game Summary: Todd Porter had 2 singles and a double. Decavery Brown had 3 hits, Jacob Autry added a couple of Hits and Clayton was also 3 for 3, in a 16 to 8 Red Sox win. Saturday 4/29: The Rookie Nationals played a fun game against the hard-hitting Red Sox. Kyle Vickery was given the MVP Award and game ball for good hitting and defense. Wednesday 5/3: The Rookie Nationals battled hard against the Rookie Giants. The MVP Award and game ball went to Jake Kline for getting two great hits!
MINOR
April 22 Marlin's vs. A's Top Players: Angel Contreas, Rondrig Bautista, Myrissa Pinaula Game Hightlights: A's player a tough game against the Marlins. Rondrig Bautsita led off the second inning with a line drive double to right center. He then stole third and home, scoring the A's first fun. Myrissa Pinaula brought in the second run with some alert base running by stealing second and third and finally scoring on an overthrow. Game ball went to Angel Contreras for making a terrific catch in right center.
April 27 Angles vs. Giants Top Players: Gabe Villarreal S.S, Dominic Monterosso closing pitcher Game Summary: Angles defeated Giants 12-6 in what was a great game. Angles bats came alive at the end of the game
April 29 A's 1 vs. Dodgers 11 Game Summary: The A's lost a tough game to the Dodgers. Defensive highlights included two awesome catches by outfielders Rodriel Bautista and Angel Contreras. In addition, the A's turned a double play in the first inning when starting pitcher, Emily Pinson, struck out the batter and A's catcher, Kaua Asing, threw out the runner attempting to steal third base. The A's scored their only run in the fourth inning when Myrissa Pinaula singled in Rondrig Bautista who had reached 3rd base on a steal. MVP of the game was Rodriel Bautista for his defensive play in left field.
Diamond Backs vs. Angels Top Players: Stephen Schmidt, starting pitcher and big hitter of the day. Manchette, Weber, and Villarreal pulled off a triple play. Game Summary: Diamond Backs beat the Angles after a hard fought battle from both teams 7-5.
MINOR CARDINALS RESULTS
May 1
Cardinals 9 Angels 3 Cardinals Top Players: Steven Bettencourt, Richey Ochoa, Tyler Janitz, JC Maroun, Jerry Brown, Kyle Thornton and Tyler Abraham. It was a great all-around day for the Cardinals. Richey Ochoa pitched 4 strong innings, stiking out 6 Angels and helping himself at the plate with 2 triples, 2 stolen bases and scored 2 runs. Steven Bettencourt helped lead the attack for the Cardinals with 2 hard hit doubles, led the team with 4 RBI's and played great at 1st base. Tyler Janitz went 2 for 4 at the plate, stealing 3 bases, scored 2 times and pitched the last 2 innings, striking out 4. JC Moroun went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored. Jerry Brown continued playing great defense at Catcher and went 1-3 at the plate, scoring 2 runs. Tyler Abraham got his bat going with a single the 4th inning knocking in a run. Rounding off the Cardinals day was Kyle Thornton who played steller defence at 2nd base throughout the game. The Cardinals face the Diamondbacks this coming Saturday at 1pm. The Cardinals are now 4-4 for the season.
MAJORS
Saturday, April 22 Matthew Tamaru, Timmy Guerra and Christian Jespersen combined for a one hitter in their 5-4 win over the Cardinals. Down 4-3 in the bottom of the sixth, the Tigers rallied back with lead off Christian Jespersen singling on a dragged bunt and later scoring on a 2 base hit by Josh Gatti. Gatti stole home to put the Tigers in front for good.
Wednesday, April 26 The Tigers took an early lead in Wednesday's 5-9 win over the Giants. With the first batter on base, Tyler Garder had a base hit bringing in the first of 8 RBI's in hte game. In the third inning, Timmy Guerra stole home on a dropped third strike. The final run of the game was scored by Matt Tamaru on a sacrafice fly by Nate Tatro.
Thursday, April 27 Thursday game between the A's and the Tigers was nothing short of a battle between two well matched teams. As the underdogs, the Tigers scored an early 1-0 lead the lasted four innings. Infield defense was strong between Matt Tamaru, Christian Jesperson and Timmy Guerra ensuring only two batters getting beyond second base. Tigers scored four more runs in the fifth inning and held off the Undefeated A's to a 5-0 win for the Tigers. |
