Kindergartners and nuns run for fundraiserby Mona Shah
Tiny tennis shoes will pound the pavement once again for a good cause on Friday, May 5 as the Dominican kindergarten will host Kinderjog 2006, their fundraiser for the year. You're invited to come out and join the fun. Kindergarteners along with their teacher, Sister Jane Marie, will be jogging laps around the Kindergarten complex for pledges (each lap is 1/5 mile).
Kinderjog promises to be a fun-filled day for all participants. It will be especially significant because it will raise money to support diverse community activities and projects, and promotes a sense of community for the students, parents and sponsors.
In the past, this fundraiser has raised anywhere from $9,000 to $19,000. Proceeds benefit the Dominican Kindergarten classroom and facility needs, tuition assistance for Dominican kindergarten and St. Joseph School, St. Joseph Build-a-Church Project, St. Martin De Porres School, Vision of Hope, and the Internationality Fund - Missionaries of Mexico, US and Germany.
