Network Equipment Technologies and DTECH LABS Expand Partnership for Delivery of WHISPER Mobile VX VoIP Solutions
Fremont (BUSINESS WIRE), April 26_Industry pioneer Network Equipment Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:NWK) and DTECH LABS, Inc., a provider of secure, mobile communications products, announced that they have expanded their contractual relationship to provide for the deployment of NET's VX Series Universal Voice Exchange(TM) on a new hardware platform developed by DTECH LABS. NET's VX Series is based on the Company's award-winning Shout product technology.
With the renewing of their development partnership, the firms have focused their efforts on the next evolution of DTECH's WHISPER product line, the WHISPER400, which is a mobile Secure VoIP Interface in a small package targeted at the tactical and first-responder market segments. The agreement has also been expanded to allow both firms to offer the WHISPER and VX technologies to their respective customers. NET and DTECH LABS began their partnership in early 2005 with the development of the WHISPER900 Secure VoIP Gateway, which has already been deployed at the highest levels of the U.S. Government and Military, as well as at the core of Satellite Service Provider Networks.
The WHISPER400 Secure VoIP Interface was designed to meet the growing demand for mobile STU, STE and SCIP (FNBDT) calling over emerging BGAN and VSAT IP-based satellite networks. The VX Series software is extremely bandwidth-efficient and offers the industry's best fault-tolerant capabilities for secure calls -- a critical factor when operating in tactical, high-latency or unpredictable network environments. Weighing in at 3lbs, yet featuring support for four simultaneous secure calls plus IP data, the WHISPER400 is slated for integration in a number of existing tactical communications systems designed for man-carry or backpack operation.
