One Woman, Many Women, One World

Committed to women's health and wellness, Bras for Body & Soul founded the HERS Breast Cancer Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of and educating the public about breast cancer.

Shelves and racks of brightly colored bathing suits, scarves, hats, bathrobes and candles (just to name a few of the treasures) help visitors understand that this shop is dedicated to the spirit of woman.

Cancer survivors, initially the store's target client, are often surprised at the bright, pleasant feel of the shop. Here, women can shop for custom fit bras, prostheses and even wigs in the privacy and luxury of a boutique. After experiencing the devastation of breast cancer, said McMahon, a woman is entitled to a normal shopping experience. She is determined to teach women that bras should conform to their body shape not the other way around.

Each year HERS holds a women's conference to educate and entertain with humor, women on breast cancer. "Our theme this year: 'One Woman, Many Women, One World,' was inspired by one of last year's participants," said Dr. Patricia J. McMahon, Co-Founder and President. "The goal of our annual conference is that it will be an experience of care and inspiration, whatever each woman's journey holds, for each has a profound impact on one another and the earth."

The conference offers a time for women to "hear, and to share, stories of both laughter and tears so that we each come away with newfound wisdom, healing and grace for our daily lives," Dr. McMahon said. "Humorist Terri Tate, RN, MS will be back by popular demand, along with Author Brenda Kinsel and many more phenomenal women."

This year they have added an Evening Benefit Concert per the enthusiasm of Wayne and Sue Brask who have been hosting "house concerts" for more than 10 years. "As committee chairs, Wayne and Sue have put together a fabulous concert that men, women and youth will enjoy," said an enthusiastic McMahon.

Tickets may be purchased for either event or buy tickets to both events and save!

Proceeds of the Conference and Concert benefit outreach services of HERS Breast Cancer Foundation, a local nonprofit dedicated to the physical, mental and spiritual well-being of women, girls and families, especially women facing breast cancer.
