Fremont resident named "Livestock man of the year"
Jim Coelho of Fremont, the 2005 Livestock man of the Year, will be honored at a presentation during the 2006 Grand National Rodeo April 7 to 15 at Cow Palace in San Francisco. This award is given to individuals who have made a significant contribution to agricultural education through teaching and leadership in agricultural business administration.
Coelho was raised on a small and diversified crop and livestock ranch in the Bay Area. He attended local schools and taught Agricultural Sciences and Agricultural Business Management at Livermore High school and Chabot College for over 25 years.
Currently, Jim serves as a member of the board of directors of the Alameda County Fair. He sits on several boards and is immediate past chairman of Cattle-Fax, the national market organization for cattlemen. |
