Annie Get Your Gun at Mission San Jose High Schoolby Helena Wong
Annie Get Your Gun, the greatest box-office triumph of Irving Berlin's rich Broadway career is a perennial favorite of audiences of all ages. Substantial hit songs pepper the play about a rough and tumble backwoods girl who becomes the star of Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. A romance develops between Annie and Frank Butler, the star of a competing show. Spicy and rich songs such as "Doin' What Comes Natur'lly" and "You Can't Get a Man with a Gun" are interspersed with well-known production numbers including "There's No Business Like Show Business." As Frank and Annie join forces when the Wild West shows combine, competition remains as they banter, "Anything You Can Do."
