Hello engineers, hobos, and rail ridin' rebels
It's your friendly neighborhood Golden Spiker, announcing our second day of train operations here in Niles. On Sunday March 5th, bring a thermos of hot chocolate and watch the canyon hills roll by a train window.
This is the last Train Day of March. Starting in April it's every Sunday! And don't miss the April 9th GOLDEN SPIKE III celebration! Street performers, art walk, sidewalk sale, dignitaries speechizing as the Niles Canyon Railway drives a golden spike into the tracks, ushering in a new era to Niles. You can say you were there when the Steam Train came to town.
Four Trains arrive at Sullivan Underpass in Downtown Niles:
11a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2 p.m., 3:30 p.m.
Walk right to the boarding area from Downtown Niles via the Sullivan Underpass, or ride the antique "Niles Coach Lines" bus from our two shuttle stops in town. Take the train into Sunol and back. Hang out in Sunol if you like and catch a later train back to Niles. The rides last about an hour round trip. (Note: the 3:30 train has no return from Sunol).

Clackity Clack, the sound I like
Get on board the Golden Spike,
What's in town? you all know -
Come on down when the whistle blows
