The League of Volunteers (LOV) will be awarding two $250 Community Service Scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are residents of Fremont, Newark or Union City. Eligible applicants must have performed a minimum of 50 hours of volunteer service to the community in their junior and/or senior years over and above any mandatory requirement for graduation. Volunteer service must be verifiable. A 3.0 GPA or better is required, along with a brief essay.

Tri-City ROP and continuation school graduates are eligible for a $250 scholarship with 20 hours of volunteer service to the community. A 2.5 GPA is required along with a brief essay.

Deadline for applications is Tuesday, April 4.

Three $250 scholarships in fine arts and music will be given to graduating high school students who are residents of Fremont, Newark or Union City. These include the Dan and Marie Archer Scholarships for painting or drawing and photography, and the Fred Jueneman/Newark Arts Council Scholarship for music. Deadline to apply for these scholarships is Monday, April 10. Music applicants will be required to audition May 6. The Dan and Marie Archer Scholarships applicants must submit three finished products with the application.
