Ice Skating:
With the 2006 Winter Olympics now underway, some of you may have the urge to try ice skating. The rink, Sharks Ice at Fremont, 44388 Old Springs Blvd, Fremont, 510-623-7200, is now holding hockey classes. For youths, they are on Friday nights at 6 p.m. and for adults, on Saturday mornings at 8 a.m. If interested, give them a call or stop in to check it out.
Golf:
Enjoy early spring weather by visiting the newly refurbished and just opened golf driving range at Fremont Park Golf Club, 39751 Stevenson Place, Fremont, 510-790-1919. This unique driving range is set up so you will be driving to artificial greens, over sand traps and water hazards. The distance from your tee shot to the different parts of the driving range are listed next to your tee. Their hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week. The range is lighted for driving after dark. The nine-hole course next to the driving range is open seven days a week from 7a.m. to dusk.
Wrestling:
If amateur wrestling interests you, then check out the high school wrestling tournament for the Bay Shore Athletic League (BSAL) being held at California School for the Deaf, 39350 Gallaudet Dr., Fremont, 510-794-3666. The league tournament will be held this Friday, Feb. 17th, starting at 4 p.m. Come out and watch these athletes compete for conference championships and the right to go on to the North Coast Section (NCS) tournament of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF). |
