All 12 James Logan High School students who submitted audition tapes for the California All-State Honor Band have been selected for the prestigious award, Logan band director Ramiro Barrera announced.
A maximum of 12 students from any one high school are allowed to submit audition tapes.
The students will participate in honor band activities Feb. 16-19 in Fresno, rehearsing with top-notch conductors and performing a formal concert, Barrera said.
In addition, five Cesar Chavez Middle School students and three Alvarado Middle School students have been selected to Junior High All-State Honor Band.
The students are:
Alvarado Middle: Kara Racho (horn), Steven Dinh (clarinet),
Cecilia Wu (clarinet).
Cesar Chavez Middle: Gregory De Leon (bass clarinet), Rebecca Rowe (clarinet), Justin Chen (horn), Vanessa Johnson (clarinet), Ashley Acosta (mallets).
Logan High: Angela Ballard (flute), Michelle Flanner (flute), Al Bona (clarinet), Jesse Chen (clarinet), Philip Boyer (bass clarinet), Monika Wamhoff (oboe), Roshan Sukumar (bassoon), Teddy Del Rosario (alto saxophone), Froilan Vicente (baritone saxophone), Michael Burnor (trombone), Russell Bowerman (trombone), Adam Crayne (mallet percussion). |
