Gomes Elementary School's girls basketball team is off to a fine start for the 2006 season. After posting consecutive victories over Grimmer (33-14) and Niles (34-11) elementary schools, the Gomes squad continued its unbeaten season with a win over Chadbourne, beating the Pioneers 35 to 15.

Fine offensive performances were turned in by Ilene Tsao, Ariel Figuroa, Tatiana McCuaig, and Soraya Wright. Defensively, Sydney Ha, Nicole Reiner, Aneeta Vedula, and Amy Ribar did a great job rebounding and blocking shots. Blair Akerland, Shannon Chua, and Kari Mori kept the ball moving, bringing the offense up the court with good passing and ball handling. Cassie Broadwin and Ariel Tsang completed the offense with good shooting from the outside. Congratulations Gomes Gophers! Keep up the good work.
