Wine tasting at Pearl's
Pearl's Cafe is hosting a tasting of Red Skye wines on Saturday, Dec. 10, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at 4096 Bay St., in Fremont.
Red Skye produces award-winning wines that are easily enjoyed by themselves or paired with great foods. Whether it be the crisp, citrus flavor of their Sonoma Chardonnay, the dark cherry and toast of their Sonoma Cabernet, the pepper and spice of their Sonoma Zinfandel, or the dark fruit and complexity of their Sonoma Sunset Red Bordeaux blend.
Red Skye is a collaboration of Mark and Betty Christopulos of Fremont. After 10 years of producing acclaimed homemade wines together, and continued coaxing from their friends and family, they finally decided to make their dream a reality. In April of 2004, the dream was launched.
Mark's family has been home winemakers for generations. His Mediterranean roots have helped provide the inspiration, along with the stories of his immigrant grandfather "rolling out the oak barrel" on special family gatherings. Mark and Betty's vision is to create great wines, and bring them to wine fans in a way that is easily understood--they see a real need for outstanding wines that are also highly approachable. They feel that fine wine consumers are looking for something that is critically acclaimed, yet is great to drink and easily paired with favorite dishes-and doesn't carry a restrictive price tag.
