Woof! Woof! Woof!
I am a rescue from hurricane Rita, whew, that was a close one! However, now I am faced with another challenge, I need a home! I have had a rough few months and would do anything in my doggy power to have a family to love and protect. Although the girls at Mission Valley Vet Clinic take excellent care of me, a real home is what I dream of. I would make an excellent addition to almost any home. I love people, and love to go for walks and play fetch. I can sit, listen very well and take treats from people's hands very gently.
Unfortunately, during my crises in Texas I contracted heartworm. I have been on medication ever since I came to Mission Valley Vet Clinic, and I am getting stronger every day. Heartworm is not contagious to humans and my condition is in a stage that is not contagious to other pets, even though it will take a while until I am 100 percent better. I have lots of energy and don't appear in any way to have this temporary condition. I take my medication once a month, which Mission Valley Vet Clinic will supply at no cost for as long as I need.
I would probably be happiest in a home with no other dogs, but cats are acceptable. There are a lot of dogs at the clinic where I stay right now and sometimes they upset me.
I am approximately 1 1/2 years old, will be spayed soon and have all of my vaccinations. I am a luscious golden brown with red highlights, a Labrador Retriever mix and weigh about 45lbs.
I ooze sweetness, affection and give wet sloppy kisses and would love to come and live with you!
If you are interested in meeting me or getting any other information about me you can call Mission Valley Vet Clinic at (510) 797-2323. My friends at the clinic also have two cats from hurricane Rita who are looking for homes. |
