2005 Holiday for the Artsby Arathi Satish
A major three-day event is scheduled to return to the Olive Hyde Art Gallery on December 2nd. The 23rd Holiday for the Arts show presented by the Olive Hyde Art Guild will feature paintings, jewelry, ceramics, fiber and wood holiday goods. Food and wine will be served to guests at an opening night gala that offers an early selection of artwork for sale.
This year, a special drawing will be held oat the gala for a beautiful ceramic vase by Eileen Morrison. Eileen is currently a member of Olive Hyde Art Guild, the Chinese Art Association in Millbrae, the ACGC and Glass Art Society. She has a permanent display of ceramic and glass at the Willits Center Art Gallery in Fremont. Morrison who has pursued art all her life says, "My passion is to incorporate the wonders of nature with art so the others can appreciate its beauty." Proceeds will benefit visual arts in the community.
Sales from the show are divided between the guild and participating artists. Proceeds will help support Fremont's In-School Art History Program, local student scholarships, student art awards, improvements at the Olive Hyde Art Gallery and special gallery exhibits and promotions.
