The Centerville Business Association is celebrating the holidays this year with its 5th annual Centerville Tree Lighting Celebration on Sunday, Nov. 27, at the Centerville Train Station, Fremont. Enjoy a day filled with activities and fun for the entire family, including skating, a Holiday Craft Faire and an evening tree lighting and dedication ceremony.

This year's event is dedicated to the memory of Fremont resident, community activist and long-time Centerville Business Association member Gary King. Fremont City Councilmember Steve Cho will lead a dedication ceremony for King, who originally planted the Holiday Tree in 2001.

A skating rink will be open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on the plaza in front of the recently renovated Centerville Depot. Skate rentals and lessons are available for $5. Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive by train into the Centerville Station at 3 p.m. Santa will bring a free gift for children (while supplies last) and will listen to holiday gift wish lists. He will be available for photos with Santa until approximately 5:30 p.m. A Holiday Craft Faire will be located at Bill Ball Plaza. Booths will be open from 1 to 5 p.m.

At 5:30 p.m. Councilman Cho will perform the Holiday Tree dedication. The actual lighting of the tree will take place at approximately 6 p.m.

There will be plenty of free coffee, hot chocolate and cookies throughout the day with entertainment by "What the Dickens" strolling carolers. Everyone will have the chance to win prizes donated by local Centerville Businesses. Guests must be present to win.

The "Billy Wheel" located at the Centerville Business Association's booth will provide lucky winners with small gifts and free pictures with Santa.
