Art Walk in Fremont's Niles District
Join the fun, when artist Ed Frakes installs his latest sculpture in its permanent location at Kiowa Rose's. Ed is well known for his recycled materials "saints" and for their corresponding biographies. The complete story for this special saint is still undercover and will be explained during the Art Walk. This will also be the first showing of 20 themed Christmas trees being offered for auction during November. The funds raised by the silent auction go to benefit the Fremont Education Foundation and the Niles Main Street Association's (a 501 c3 nonprofit) Niles promotion efforts. Watercolorist, Donna Sanson, will be displaying more of her Italy inspired paintings and will share what it's like to be part of a "Participating Art Tour." The Fremont Art Association will be offering three to four demonstrating artists of various mediums. Live music will be provided to accompany the work being done. Glassworker, Wayne Corrie, will be offering a free mini class in torchworked glass to a few fortunate visitors. When not instructing, he will be demonstrating how murrines (an Italian glass blowing technique) are made.
The event is free. Maps are available the afternoon of the Art Walk at 37683 Niles Blvd., Fremont.
