Niles Rotary Earns $60,000 for Community Non-Profitsby Daren Young
Niles Rotary raised $60,000 at its recent elimination raffle annual event, reports Event Chairman Daren Young. The 9th annual reverse raffle included live and silent auctions, in addition to raffle baskets and the featured elimination raffle. Tricia Raver, daughter of Glenmoor Auto Repair's Gary Raver, won the grand prize of $5,000. The $60,000 profit is a new high for the club's event.
Young, the 2004-2005 President of Niles Rotary, noted that the funds raised "will go a long way to fulfilling Niles Rotary's commitment of $90,000 for the Rotary BridgeWay Apartments of the Tri-City Homeless Coalition, and will support the numerous charities and non-profit organizations in our community to which we contribute each year." Young added, "everyone who participated in the event must be thanked for their willingness to step up and make the donations necessary for the fund raiser to be such a success." Niles Rotary President Tony Boudames said "the huge success of this fund raiser continues the tradition of Niles Rotary being the home club of dedicated Rotarians who have been serving and giving in our community since 1937."
