The Fremont Lightning Girls U13 team won the South Valley Soccer Festival Tournament this past weekend. The Lightning outplayed their competition by winning their games against CVU Crossfire 3-0 and Odyssey White 4-0 on Saturday. Paige Diamond and Elisa Chen each scored two goals along with Andrea Bonilla, Janell Koide, and Lauren Jauco each scoring one. This put the Lightning at the top of the leader board for Sunday when they tied South Valley 1-1 to put the Lightning into the championship match. The Lightning beat the Manteca Rangers 2-0 with Janell Koide and Lauren Jauco each scoring in the second half. Outstanding defense and goal keeping by Megan Kufeld held the competition to one goal during the tournament.

U7 Boys: Top players for Team 751 Red Dragons -- Colton Casey, Bradley Slater, Aayush Sharma

U8 Boys: Top Icebergs Players - Stockton Stohl, Jacob McCluskey, Brandon Garcia, Sreejay Pedapenki, Michael McCluskey.

U9 Girls: Taking a break from regular season play, the Fremont TOPS competed in the Devil Mountain Jamboree hosted by Mount Diablo. Facing mainly U-10 teams, the U-9 TOPS defeated LMSC Blue (4-1), CV Green Machine (2-0), and the Livermore Venom (1-0). Strong offensive play was provided by Eva Becerra, Vienna Curtis, Haley Joly, Amrin Khurana, Mia Volpatti, and Sharon Singh. In an early morning match-up, the TOPS only loss was to the Monclair Clippers (1-0) despite gritty defensive play from Lauren Clark, Mara Wondka, Tylore Bell, and Claudia Robinson.

U9 Girls, Division I: The Fremont TOPS, U-9 Division I Gold Girls Soccer Team opened the fall season with a win against the Fremont Piranhas, the 2nd U-9 Division I Girls Soccer Team (6-0) due to outstanding offensive play from Eva Becerra, Amrin Khurana, and Mia Volpatti. The second season game against Mt. Diablo Shockwave ended in a loss (3-1) despite aggressive defensive play from Tylore Bell, Megan Coffey, Lauren Clark, Sharon Singh, Mara Wondka, and Claudia Robinson.

U10 Girls, House: The Monday night game between the girls U10 White Tigers and the Angels was a strong defensive game for both teams. White Tiger forward Alex Mejia scored all three goals on breakaways which were assisted by Megan Heyes and Heidi Johnson. The White Tiger's defenders Jamie Kennerk, Chloe Lambert and Elizabeth Roney kept the Angels away from their goal for most of the game. In the second half, White Tiger goalie Shelby Casey did not allow the Angels to score.

U10 Girls: Blue Jays Outstanding players: Claire Castren (goal), Skyler Anderson (goal), Katie Courville (goal), Amy deLanda.

U10 Boys: On Sept 19, the Earthquakes outscored the Silver Streak 6-1. Goals were scored by Daniel Cordoza, Mizan Rahman, Sean Reilly and Eddie Hernandez for the Earthquakes Alex Olsen led the defense with help from Matthew Jimenez and Hernandez at fullbacks and Goalies Jake Gordon & Abizer Lokhandwala. Top players: Frankie Alvarez, Prithvi Gabhi, Navneet Kumar

U10 Boys: On Sept 24, the Earthquakes outlasted a tough Sandstorm team 2-1. After a scoreless first half the Earthquakes were able to penetrate a determined Sandstorm defense when Sean Reilly was able to find Mizan Rahman to break the 0-0 deadlock. Eddie Hernandez was next to find Rahman down the sidelines with a pass that Rahman made the score 2-0. The Sandstorm quickly answered with a great pass from Chase Walker that Andrew Huge put into the back of the net. Both teams played solid defense with Konal Munshani, Joshua Jokom and Albert Jiang standing out for the Sandstorm. Justin Weightman (goalie) Matthew Jimenez, Alex Olsen and Hernandez all played solid defense for the Earthquakes. Top players:Sean Reilly, Mizan Rahman, Justin Weightman, Alex Olsen, Matthew Jimenez

U10 Boys: The Red Rockets tied (3-3) with the Raptures this past Saturday. Mark Perry (Red Rockets) made the first goal. The Raptures came back for two more goals, leading 2-1. Kevin Carscadden (of the Red Rockets) made the second goal, tying the game 2-2. The Raptures made another goal to lead by 1. Ryan Bailey set up and assisted Kevin Carscadden in yet another goal tying the game. Top Players: Erwin Rodriguez, Matthew Ho, Harman Sra, Nicholas Fowlks, Austin Gee.

U12 Girls: Soccer City Strikers played one of their toughest games of the year against the gals of the Golden Lions. The Golden Lions scored first and held a 1-0 lead through the first half. Soccer City Strikers' Cheryl Cook scored 5 minutes into the second half. Megan Sanders sealed the victory for Soccer City Strikers with a goal from the outside. Christine Padilla and Hanna Eugster played outstanding defensive for the Strikers.

U14 Girls: It was a tough game for Fanta; every player gave her best in the game. Rachel Heng, Selina Mahesri and Sara Talooi assist both defense and offense with endless energy. Neha Teekappanavar and Erica Ohye saved many of the shots from getting to the goal.

U14 Girls: Outstanding players (Roar): Caitlin Wallace, Priscilla Herrera, Paige Castren.
