Presentations and Proclamations
The approval of the July 14 meeting minutes was followed by the presentation of Police Officer Jeff Saunders who was recently hired by the Newark Police Department.

Council Matters
With the announcement of the year-end retirement of City Manager Al Huezo, the Council was to appoint a new successor. They voted to appoint John Becker as City Manager, effective December 30, 2005.
