July 19, 2005 > Arangetrams debut at Ohlone College

The Shri Krupa Dancers will perform a series of "Arangetrams" or solo dance debuts at Ohlone College in July and September. Arangetram literally means to "ascend the stage," and symbolizes the graduation of the student after years of training. It is the first formal presentation of a student, by her teacher, to the audience.

In addition, this year Shri Krupa Dance Foundation is organizing a year-long series entitled "Festival of Bharatanatyam," beginning in September.
