Can you design and build a boat made only of cardboard, recyclables and duct tape? If you think you can, enter the Derby Day Boat Race at Union City's Dan Oden Swim Complex located at 33901 Syracuse Avenue across the street from James Logan High School.

The race will be held on Friday, July 22, from 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Register your boat by Thursday, July 21 to participate. This year, the Derby Day Carnival will feature games and prizes, noted Union City Aquatics Program coordinator Korey Hayman.
