April 26, 2005 > Family Kite Day set for May 14

According to organizers, a warm and windy afternoon has been ordered for Saturday, May 14 at Sportsfield Park next to the Silliman Activity Center in Newark. Family Kite Day has an unbroken string of excellent kite weather days that bodes well for this year's activities.

Kites are the main attraction and the event this year will again feature free kites, games and lots of entertainment including a magician, music, demonstrations, giant kites and candy drops.

Scheduled from noon to 4 p.m., kite enthusiasts, families and folks who just want to spread a blanket and watch are invited. This year, Newark firefighters will BBQ hot dogs and hamburgers for hungry attendees. Mark your calendar now!
