Princess for a day

by Linda Stone

What girl hasn't dreamed of being a princess with a horse and white carriage waiting to take her to a special event? Dressing in a frilly gown, wearing a jeweled crown and enjoying a lovely tea with friends can now be a dream that comes true. Enchanted Princess Tea Parties, an event planning company, caters to young girls ages four to 14.

Michelle Moore, owner of Enchanted Princess Tea Parties & Events has been planning corporate and private events for over 10 years. Her company opened in November of last year when she saw a market niche that was not being filled. She realized that in today's hectic world, it is often difficult for parents to devote the time and energy needed to throw a fancy party for their children.

"Busy parents who want to have a party with their daughter are my most typical clients," said Moore.

Enchanted Princess Tea Parties & Events offers many popular themed events such as a custom birthday tea party package including invitations, a party hostess, crafts, princess dresses, gifts for party guests and princess characters. Enchanted Princess will plan, shop, decorate and even clean up after the event.

When guests of a birthday princess arrive, they are treated to arts and crafts activities then don party gowns. The tea party begins as all gather at a table complete with table linens, themed centerpiece and silver teapots, to enjoy tea sandwiches, cookies and fresh seasonal fruits.

Background music sets the mood as stories are told and a birthday cake. Following tea, each guest is given a beauty treatment of sparkle glitter gel to participate in a fashion show and crowning ceremony when all guests walk down a red carpet to be officially crowned "Royal Princess."

Additional party themes for young girls include Stuff and Fluff a Bear Tea Party, A Day at the Enchanted Spa Party, Themed Slumber Parties, Crafts Party, Chef for a Day Party, Flower Power Party, Friendship Tea Party, and The Mad Hatter Tea Party. Girl Scouts Parties receive a special discount.

Party themes for older girls include a magical Sweet Sixteen party that can focus on one of a variety of themes including: Black and White Ball, Hollywood & Broadway, Masquerade Magic, Sweet Sixteen Slumber Party, Luau Pool Party, Anthony & Cleopatra, Monte Carlo Casino, Limousine Scavenger Hunt and the Lavish Luxury Spa.

Every month Enchanted Princess Tea Parties & Events offers special packages on their website. "Prom Night 2005" is now available until June 20. This party offers an intimate dinner party for six to 12 people before the prom. You can add on a limousine and personal stylist who will come to your home to do hair and make-up for the girls.

Moore understands that all parents cannot afford her services. To help those unable to contract for her services, Enchanted Princess Tea Parties will choose a qualifying child every calendar quarter and offer a party at no cost. To nominate a child for the Enchanted Princess Dream Party, send a brief narration on why you think the child deserves a party whether it is your child, a family member, a neighbor, student, friend or acquaintance whose financial situation is limited.
