Support for Connie White

I wanted to share my opinion regarding transfer of the current principal of American High School- Ms. Connie White. I think this decision should be given a serious thought again in light of the facts parents are raising to the board.

My daughter is now a freshman at AHS. When Ms. White spoke at my daughter's graduation of from Thornton Jr. High, I was impressed by her dynamism and optimism.

Under the leadership of Connie White, AHS completed the application process to participate in the rigorous competitive selection process conducted by the California Department of Education. Only the highest scoring schools are selected as statewide nominees and AHS was one of the few.

Approximately five percent of California's public schools are selected each year for this prestigious award from these strong, well-rounded community schools. Given this leap in the image of AHS, I strongly recommend that she continue as principal. I would definitely want my daughter to graduate from this school under the dynamic leadership of Ms. White.
