Click on FremontOnline to Win a Cup of Coffee or a Ticket to a Silent Film
by Andrew MacRae
FremontOnline (www.fremontonline.org), a community resources web site built by a grassroots coalition of community members, is having a contest. Visitors to the FremontOnline website who click on the logo of a non-profit organization (displayed at the lower right of the FremontOnline home page) have a chance at winning a free cup of coffee at Mission Coffee Roasting Company or Mission Valley Coffee and Tea or a ticket to a Saturday night movie at the Essanay Silent Film Museum in Niles.
From time other pages within the FremontOnline web site will be included in this click contest, pages such as the local news and weather report, and monthly events. Some restrictions do apply. Only one prize may be awarded to an individual person per calendar month. Repeated clicks within minutes of each other from the same computer are not counted. The odds of winning are changed from time to time, depending in part on how many prizes are left to be awarded.
If you are a member of a local non-profit organization and would like to see your logo displayed on FremontOnline's home page and included in the contest, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have prizes you would like to donate for this contest, please contact us as well.
FremontOnline, initially sponsored by the Fremont Community Foundation and the city of Fremont launched in July 2002, thanks to a grant from SBC Pacific Bell and more than 3,000 volunteer hours from a grassroots coalition of community members. The site includes local news stories, profiles of residents, an events calendar, business listings, service clubs and organizations, resources on social services, education, housing and more. Members of the community can post information for free. FremontOnline receives over 80,000 hits a month. The site is user friendly and will walk your fingers through the process.
