It's Cookie Time Submitted by Leanne Aboumrad
Girl Scouts are now busy selling cookies and the Coyote Hills Association has exciting plans for empty cookie sales cases. The girls will decorate their boxes to look like houses, stores and public buildings then place the decorated boxes in as many classrooms as possible.
Scouts will be asking families to donate any non-perishable food items such as canned, dry food, baby food in jars, juice or boxed food items. At the end of the week, each school will combine collection boxes to help the student body understand our theme: "Together We Can Feed A Village."
This is the third year the scout group at Chadbourne School have participated in this activity. Teachers use the food drive week to study nutrition and hunger; upper grade levels have received community service points for helping. Thirteen schools will be hosting a food drive from April 11 to April 15.
