Oliveira Buddies Make Easter Happier for Displaced Kids

by Gary Leatherman

Fifty buddies from two Oliveira Elementary school classrooms spent part of their Wednesday before spring break working to make Easter a happier holiday for 50 less fortunate children at the Tri-City Homeless Shelter.

The Oliveira students are buddies from Linda Anderson's sixth-grade class and Nicole Oviatt's third-grade class. They have worked together on several projects during the school year to demonstrate the traits of sharing and community service that elementary students across the Fremont Unified School District are learning in their Head, Heart, Hands character education program.
