Fremont Vista Retirement Homes Recognized by City Councilby Dan Schoenholz
In the ceremony at the March 1 council meeting, Jerry Chen, owner of Fremont Vista Retirement Homes (FVRH), presented a check for $10,000 to Mayor Bob Wasserman. The Mayor noted that FVRH, which recently opened a 100-unit assisted living facility for older adults, is the first "Diamond-Level" sponsor of the Human Services Department's upcoming fundraiser, "Meet Me at Fiesta de Colores." Proceeds from the event will support the Fremont Senior Center and the city's pioneering Infant-Toddler program for families with young children. The Mayor encouraged other businesses to join FVRH in helping to ensure that quality human service programs continue in Fremont.
"Meet Me at Fiesta de Colores" will take place on Cinco de Mayo, Thursday, May 5, from 6 to10 p.m. at the Fremont Marriott. This gala dinner event will feature folklorico dancers, great music, a silent auction and much more. If you are interested in sponsoring the event, donating auction items, or purchasing tickets, contact the Fremont Human Services Department at (510) 574-2050.
