Volunteers are needed at Ardenwood Historic Farm in Fremont.

Training will begin Tuesday, March 29, 2005 from 7-9pm for people ages 14 and over interested in demonstrating old time chores such as spinning, weaving, cooking on the woodstove, working with farm animals and old fashioned farm machinery. The five - day training class includes three evening meetings and two Saturdays, and covers California and local history, interpretive techniques, Victorian lifestyles, farming and animal handling. After graduation, volunteers will dress in authentic period costume as they portray daily life at the 19th century working farm for visiting school children and families.
